Congrats to AZ Ed Foundation's A+ School of Excellence Winners!

Posted by Debbora Woods on 4/2/15 9:00 AM

We continually research about state-based programs that recognize and celebrate K-12 districts and schools that focus on parent and community involvement to improve and/or sustain student achievement.

We recently read about the Arizona Educational Foundation's "A+ School of Excellence Program." According to their website, "The A+ School of Excellence Program is a comprehensive school assessment program that celebrates outstanding schools and brings to light the positive stories and successes happening in public schools every day."

Isn't it wonderful to hear about the great things happening in our schools?

So, how does the A+ School of Excellence Program work? Schools submit applications that provide information about demographics, programs, practices, parent and community involvement, leadership, and more. The selection panel includes award-winning principals, teachers, and community members who conduct site visits and choose award winners.

Check out the round-one list of 26 winners below. We've included links to 12 schools that are also Schoolwires clients (we're so excited to share their great news!).

And you can read more about the A+ School of Excellence Program here>>

If you know of other K-12 parent involvement and community engagement awards programs that we can feature in our blog, please respond to this post. We love to showcase the great things happening across the U.S.!
